University of California, Los Angeles Campus Tour

College Preparatory: UCLA hosts 18 students from MPYD.

UCLA hosted MPYD students on Monday, February 26th, giving them an opportunity to learn more about the university and its history while envisioning themselves walking to lectures in the future.

The tour is designed for students in 9th grade and above where they can explore UCLA’s beautiful campus, tradition of academic excellence, vibrant student body and vast array of resources and opportunities.

“I loved the idea of sharing higher education and the resources that we can provide to incoming students, and I also love getting to speak and share and present, and so it’s a perfect match,” Marleyna Adler, one of the campus tour guides said. “I love to go to UCLA and fell in love with the school. I knew I had to be a tour guide.”

Beginning in the Bruin Viewpoint Lounge in the Ackerman Student Union MPYD students were able to hear first-hand stories from UCLA students, faculty and even an alumnus of the university. The day included presentations on admissions and financial aid, in addition to tours of the campus including various lecture halls, athletic facilities, and libraries.

According to the UCLA website, the main takeaway for students touring the university is the importance of finding a college that fits them well while providing excitement about the prospect of life after high school.
